I purchased the CA2PK calculators thinking it would be a great deal! Wrong! It's a great deal if you only want the smaller handheld. The large, desktop model doesn't work efficiently. The keys keep sticking. When using it, I need to constantly watch what i input as the keys don't always register because another one is stuck. Spend the extra few dollars and get a better one. I happen to buy this product directly from HP. I had it for two weeks and the interal display broke. Called HP tech to find out about getting it repaired, and was told that it was my fault that it broke, and that it was not something that could be repaired, bottom line I was told I had to buy another at 160.00. Save HP 40gs Graphing Calculator (F2225AA)

FINALLY - a graphing calculator for the 21st century, and the price is right! I never thought that word 'intuitive' could be applicable to an HP grapher but the 40GS is intuitive - user friendly. And unlike the TI's, it's not built like a kids' toy and the screen is clean and readable.

Most HP graphers assume that you're an engineer and so you're smart enough to figure out how to use the calculator without any help. The 50G is an incredibly powerful little machine but it is tough to figure out and there is no good documentation to help unless you want to print out the 800+ page PDF file, which goes into more detail than you'll ever need. Not so the 40GS - unless you really need all the high end features of the 50g, buy the 40GS for half the price and you'll be very pleased.

I have used just about every grapher out there - TI83,84,86,89, several HP's including the 50G. Since I don't need everything the 50G supports, I decided to try the 40GS after reading some reviews here on Amazon and seeing that it's reasonably priced, and I am very satisfied - won't be using anything else from now on. Even programming the 40GS is a snap - you actually have a little IDE for developing programs, and you don't need to use RPL.

Buying HP 33S Scientific Calculator (F2216A)

I teach math at a community college, and use this calculator for most of my daily calculations. I own 2 33s and a hp 50g. I have recently bought the 35s. I haven't had a chance to spend much time with the 35s, but my initial impression is a positive one. I like the fact that one does not have to use shift for the following operations -- e^x, x^2, and the (nth root of x). On the 35s one has to use shift to access these, thus adding extra key strokes. I love the side grips made of rubber. This helps me hold on to the unit while in class. The 35s does not have these. It will take me some time to decide to lay down my trusty 33s for the 35s. I love both calculators, but I'm use to the 33s. If you buy the 33s or the 35s you will not be disappointed. RPN is my preferred method for doing calculations. Hope this helps. There are buttons with kilo and milli units so you can hit 5k to enter 5 kilos. The calculator can also integrate and do defferential calculations but it does take a minute sometimes.
