I have had one of these for over 5 years and it has survived riding in the bottom of bookbags and back pockets. Includes most scientific functions and there are no batteries to die or corrode. The solar cell powers the unit in most lighting conditions. I especially like the way it handles fractions and Deg/Hour, Min, and sec.
